The working masterplan for Harlow North includes a variety of streets, squares and civic spaces to provide a range of living and working experiences at the very local level in an easily navigable layout.

Harlow North street hierarchy.
Boulevards and squares
North of the Living Bridge a new civic square is proposed, lined with civic buildings such as a meeting hall, theatre, university or museum and high-quality retail, cafes and restaurants. Three avenues or boulevards leading north would provide defined routes to outlying areas.

three wide boulevards extending from it.
A network of smaller streets and local market squares
The proposed boulevards would be linked by a dense network of streets and smaller squares at the heart of each neighbourhood. These would be designed as safe and lively places to live, cycle and walk.
